The workshop organizers are calling for scientific abstract submission. There will be three poster sessions with time to present and discuss the findings in a relaxed setting that includes ample gardens and outdoor spaces. The nature of the venue and the structure of the program will facilitate the interaction between participants. Many slots in the program have been reserved for oral presentations by registrants. The Scientific Committee will select the oral presentations based on the abstracts submitted. Abstract must be submitted online no later than August 31st, 2021 September 7th, 2021 and authors must be registered to attend this workshop. You will be notified by the Scientific Committee about results of acceptance before September 15th.

Submission guidelines:
  • All abstracts must be submitted through the ‘Abstracts Submission Portal’ published on the meeting webpage.
  • Abstracts received after the deadline will not be considered for the meeting.
    • The deadline for abstract submission will be August 31st  September 7th.
  • The presenting author need not be the first author, but must be a listed author and marked as such it in the corresponding field.
  • To be accepted, at least one of the authors signing the communication must be registered at the Workshop by September 30th 2021, otherwise the abstract will not be published.
  • Authors must write abstracts in English.
  • After having submitted your abstract, you will receive a confirmation e-mail with your reference number and your password. If not, please contact us, we will double check if your submission has been uploaded correctly.
  • You will be able to use your password in case you need to check your submitted abstract or should you need to modify the abstract before the submission deadline.

Abstracts must be in the areas of:

  • Transduction molecules for touch, pain and itch
  • Mechanisms of mechanical pain
  • Mechanisms of chronic itch
  • Chemotherapy-related pain
  • Trigeminal pain and migraine
  • Development and application of novel technologies to interrogate pain circuits
  • Spinal circuits involved in pain and itch

Instructions for authors:

The deadline for abstract submission will be August 31st September 7th.

Authors must write abstracts in English, providing the following information:

  • Title: should be in bold characters. Max. 200 characters (including spaces).
  • Author(s): include the complete names of all authors, i. e. Paul S. White, Raul E. Pérez.
  • Affiliation: List of institutions that participated in the study, indicating the affiliation for each author.
  • Abstract text (incl. references): max 3500 characters (including spaces). Abstracts should include only text (figures, images and formulas are not allowed) and should summarize the objectives, methods, results and conclusions.
  • Reference style:
    References should be cited in the text by a number in parentheses and in order of appearance. The examples provided below should be followed. Examples:

  • Keywords: include at least five keywords separated by commas.
  • Acknowledgements: Authors might acknowledge the funding bodies and other sources of support.
  • Disclosures: for each author list any disclosures relevant to the work (funding or fees received from private companies, patents, etc). If none, please indicate, “The authors declare no competing financial interests”.
    • To be accepted, at least one of the authors signing the communication must be registered at the Workshop.
  • Oral presentation: indicate this as your choice, if you would like to be considered for an oral presentation.

Poster Specifications

Please bring a printed copy of your poster, A0 portrait format (maximum 90 cm width x 120 cm height). Posters can be displayed during the entire duration of the workshop. We will have three poster sessions, around coffee breaks and lunch.
